It has been quite a long time i have posted.i was waiting to have a different domain have a blog of my own.I could not get it.Hope in the comming year i manage to get one and post things there.I have been reading and getting my hands on with a lot of things like Selenium, Ranorex, Watir, Seltest, installing Linux and others. I really enjoyed getting to install Linux many time. The distro i choose to install was Debian.I did not download the whole of the package and choosed to do a net install. The package is small about 165mb.You burn the iso on to a disk and then boot from the installtion disk. The installtion was very clean and simple even to a novice like me who had not used a linux machine before and knew none of the commands to do any of the tasks. All i had was some tips on howto by a friend and i wanted to explore this more.I had a windows XP installed and i was installing on another partition.Debian comes with the GRUB boot loader. At the end of the installtion it asked me to reboot and wow..the installation was complete.while installtion i had choose the type of the machine to be "Desktop" and "Standard" system and the packages to be fetched from and indian server. When the reboot was done, it automatically started to fetch the other required packages from the server and this took a long time coz the number of packages to be got was close to about 650+. I had just left the machine for a few hours and feteching the packages and the installtion was complete. The next time i rebooted, the GUI interface was loaded with a beatuifull interface.I will tell you, for a first time exprience to install and get come to this was screen was like great. Thanks to the Developers Team at Debian that they had made the process so very simple that a first time user also could install the system and get it to run.
More to come in the next posts.
